Origin and history

The persistent Frenchman is a hunting dog with heart and soul. His stature is elegant and athletic, his back straight and strong. The build is compact and slender at the same time, while the chest is deep to allow enough room for the lungs. The Anglo-Français de petite vénerie reaches a height at the withers between 48 and 56 cm, with an average weight of 17 kg. The coat of the hunting dog is short and smooth. It can be found in different colours, but the most common colour is tricolour. The coat is black and white with vivid or pale tan markings and a black nose. Sometimes a bicolored dog can be found with the nose sponge the color of tobacco.
