Health problems that have been observed in this mixed breed include eye problems such as cataracts, distichiasis, and/or entropion. They can also be prone to hip dysplasia, von Willebrand disease, epilepsy, and Legg-Calve-Perthes disease. As with all breeds, it is important to keep up with routine vaccinations and veterinary examinations to avoid potential health problems.

The Woodle has a dense, soft coat that is predominantly brown in color. There may be some white markings on the face and chest, and the coat may have a slight wave. The coat is low maintenance and only requires occasional brushing to keep it looking nice.
