Possible character traits of Yorkshire Terrier and Maltese mix - Such is probably his nature.

Both the Yorkshire Terrier and Maltese were bred to be companion dogs, and it's no surprise that their offspring, the Yorkie-Maltese mixes, are some of the most affectionate and loyal dog breeds around. Although small, these dogs have great personalities and make wonderful pets for families with children and other pets.

Yorkie Maltese are very intelligent and are quick learners. They are also playful and active and love to participate in everything their family does. Because of their friendly nature, they get along well with other dogs and enjoy meeting new people.

Although they are not aggressive, Yorkie Maltese can be territorial and bark to warn their family of strangers or strange animals nearby. They are also protective of their belongings, and if they feel threatened, they may take possession of their food or toys.

Yorkie-Maltese are relatively easy to train, but they need patience and consistency. They respond best to positive reinforcement techniques such as praise, treats and play. Like all dogs, they need plenty of exercise, and a daily walk is a great way to keep them physically and mentally stimulated.
