The Australian Terrier is a small, compact, short-legged terrier of medium size. The head is relatively large and covered with a soft, dense, wavy coat. The body is slightly longer than tall, and the tail is of medium length and may be docked. The coat is wheat colored and may have some dark markings on the head. The Poodle is a highly intelligent, active and proud dog breed.

What diseases can affect Australian Terrier and Poodle mix.

There are a number of known diseases that can affect Australian Terrier-Poodle mixes, including hip and elbow dysplasia, heart problems, eye disease, and von Willebrand disease.

Hip and elbow dysplasia are both common problems in larger dog breeds, and unfortunately the Australian Terrier-Poodle mix is no exception. Both problems can lead to pain and lameness, and in severe cases, surgery may be required.

Heart problems are also relatively common in Australian Terrier-Poodles. These include what is known as Patent Foramen Ovale (PFO), a hole in the heart that allows blood to leak from one chamber to the other.

Eye diseases such as cataracts and progressive retinal atrophy (PRA) are also relatively common in this breed and can often be detected through routine eye exams by a veterinarian.

Finally, von Willebrand disease is a bleeding disorder that is relatively common in Australian Terrier Poodles.
